Born out of one man’s quest to teach and instill, in all people of African descent, a mindset of debt elimination and wealth creation, leading to self-sufficiency, independence, and higher standards of living.

Dr. DeForest B. Soaries, Jr., founder of the Dfree Global Foundation, Inc., and Senior Pastor Emeritus of FBCLG, first visited Africa in 1990 to speak at the Youth for Christ conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has since returned many times to different countries on the continent in a quest to forge connections with the people, and support economic, social and spiritual development, to make a meaningful impact on every life he encounters.

In Africa, the dfree® Movement is not only about financial freedom; it is also about making community connections.

With the support of several institutions and individuals, great strides have been made to connect with communities and people of diverse walks of life to undertake impactful projects and programs.

Since 2016, dfree® Global Tours visits Ghana each year presenting tour participants with four important elements; a historical pilgrimage, cultural immersion, local tourism, and community outreach.

GHANA

The dfree® Club, Ghana was founded by Mark Addo in 2015 after he read and applied principles from the first edition of Dr. Soaries’ book, “Breaking Free from Financial Slavery”, now “Say Yes to No Debt”. The club was formed with the objective to introduce debt elimination and wealth creation strategies to two main groups of consumers – the working class and the church.

South Africa

Prior to the Consumer Protection Act being tightened in South Africa, loans and credit with exorbitant interest rates of up to 30% were peddled to consumers with salaries of as low as $150 a month. dfree® South Africa is working to change this narrative with unbiased and objective financial education and information through the book, “Say Yes to No Debt”, and its accompanying workbook and community workshops.
